RaisingUpLeadersDavid is committed to

• Mentoring leaders
• Speaking/teaching at churches and conferences
• Challenging, provoking and motivating leadership teams

The reality is that, through David, this is happening on a consistent basis, in Nottinghamn and the UK. Sometimes seen, but more often unseen.

In his spare time, David remains ‘a spiritual father’ and integral part of the expanding NG Church Network.

Supporting David:

We also felt it important to highlight how others can support us:

  • Writing
  • Wisdom and resolve

  • We remain thankful for all those who currently support David

David ShearmanI have been reading about the first three kings of Israel. Saul, David and Solomon. What struck me most? The amazing privilege and opportunity each had to serve God and what a mess Saul and Solomon made of it. Samuel said to Saul, “You acted foolishly, you have not kept the command the Lord your God gave you” (1 Samuel 13:13-14). The consequence, a kingship that could and should have been multigenerational, failed.

What of Solomon? “The Lord became angry with Solomon because his heart had turned away from the Lord, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice … Solomon did not keep the Lord’s command” (1 Kings 11:9). And the consequence? “I will most certainly tear the kingdom away from you” (1 Kings 11:11). The opportunities of future generations are compromised!

David however, although a significant moral failure, kept his heart right with God and was obedient.

In summary, disobedience had a long term consequence. This should be of significant importance for anyone who is concerned about the future. I am also reminded of the words of Jesus our Saviour and Lord, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house upon the rock” (Matthew 7:24).

So, I encourage you to keep doing what He is telling you to do. It will have an impact on future generations. And thank you very much for your ongoing love, prayer and support.
